Re: Hollywood Drum Show Oct 7th

See you there, Fellas! Unfortunately (or fortunately), I will not be bringing anything to sell, but I might bring my wallet in case something captures my eye at the right price.

Re: Leedy floor tom?

Hey Jim...it's Aaron Martinez! How ya doin', bud? How are those duco drums coming along? I would have to agree with the others that those are WFL lugs that most likely replaced the original tacked...

Re: Bass drum ID please

I had a single-tension WMP bass drum with those claws and faucet-type t-rod handle. It also had the fancy grommet, but no other markings. I can tell you that mine was MIJ, as there was Japanese...

Re: This is the "find your vintage kit" thread

Cool Thread. I always try to find my sets in the catalog scans. My 1940 L&L kit is pretty close to the catalog, but I have a 12" rack tom. The Club Date is spot on.

Re: Ludwig Super (Pre-Serial) COB/Orange-Peel Acrolite

I know exactly what you're saying, Justin. John is the "jefe" when it comes to vintage drums! I played my first gig with the Super 400 in Vegas over the weekend and it sounded fantastic paired up...

Re: Ludwig Super (Pre-Serial) COB/Orange-Peel Acrolite

As I mentioned earlier...I pulled the trigger just because it was your drum (at a good price) and I knew it was going to be top notch. I have received the drum and it is indeed a top notch drum! We...

Re: Anyone ever use Contact paper as wrap?

+1 with the others on not doing it...and especially not with that stick-on tile backsplash stuff. It's way too thick for drum wrap...would be difficult to fit heads after. If you want a wood...

Re: Ludwig Super (Pre-Serial) COB/Orange-Peel Acrolite

Money order is in the mail, John! To be honest...it was because you were selling it that I decided to pull the trigger. Can't wait to finally own a Super 400...and I know it's gonna be a nice one...

Re: Bass Drum Logo Removal

Acetone, or even regular nail polish remover, will work on smooth Remo heads no problem. If coated, then that's when you need 100% acetone, and even that doesn't work completely. Don't try acetone...

Re: Bass drum clamp-on spurs

You shouldn't have to drill for the Atlas spurs if you have a double lugs. One of the screws adjusts so that it can be used for different lug spacing. Will not for club-date style (center-lug)...

Re: 1962 Rogers Swing Time at the gig

Same thing happens to me on this site...even when they are not that way on my computer. If that happens, I usually delete the photo from my post and try again after I make a change to the pic,...
