Re: Gretsch Monster tom bolts

Hmmm. I doubt its a proprietary size. I have one at home I'll try to find to measure for you. If a standard (non-metric) size bolt won't fit, it may be that it isn't the bolt but the nut it screws...

Re: 14" COB Nickel HOOP ~ batter side

Wait - do you need COB (chrome) or Nickel or either? And what company or do you want or do you not care?

Re: The Great American Drums - Harry Cangany book

I think there was only one printing, which is the problem. They've been $30 and up for a while. Time for them to re-issue, I think.

Re: Current state of vintage drum prices?

So a related question is the best way to sell. Which makes me wonder why you gave up your website? I figure the hard part is setting up a site and taking all the pictures, but you already had that...

Re: What is it?

I read that as 1892, which is a more likely date. Since it was found in Pennsylvania, there was a Lodi Pennsylvania in 1895 that bears looking at LINK (http://gohistoric.com/sites/811197): That looks...

Re: What is it?

I think it is significantly larger than the one shown in the old painting, so don't think that image is particularly relevant. This would be a PITA for anyone to carry strapped across their shoulder,...

Please post a picture. I wouldn't know an Asba hoop if I saw one (so who knows I might have one?)

Re: '78-'79 Gretsch

Looks good except for the tom mount and BD legs. Great sizes and wood is in very nice condition. Is that a Premier mount? I may leave it as is since it looks to be strong and functional - and that...

Re: I think I have this one in the bag - finally!

Here's your (second) chance. Surprised the seller didn't contact you with a second chance offer. If you contact him you can probably work something out.

Re: Question about Ludwig bass drum hoops

1-3/4 is the standard ludwig size (isn't that what you have already?)

Re: 15x12 marching snare bass drum conversion

Yikes, this is a small BD. The problem with the vintage snare rims is they aren't very wide and would be hard to attach a pedal to. Might work depending on your pedal?

Re: Radio King shells

Its also possible they were re-wrapped. I haven't known Slingerland drums to be oversized (much more common with some Gretsch).

Re: Slingerland ID and FT mystery (Stage Band)

I have a (50's or early 60's?) Slingerland 15x12 shell with center lugs that was probably a marching tom - there are no legs and no snare throw or butt. But it TOO has the bearing edges cut into it....

Re: Ludwig Kit Advice Needed: 28 bass/20 floor

Do you own a van? Or an 18-wheeler? Those aren't going to fit in your trunk. Sumo Dude

Interesting. Is there a similar stamp on the other drums, or a different stamp?

Re: Thoughts on square badge Gretsch oddball kit

I don't know the later Gretsch that well, but based on that single picture I would suspect that this is a collection of shells that were stripped and stained and varnished by a DIYer. Stain looks...

Re: Seek STAR 6-ply (or stencil thereof) 14x20

MIJ but don't know if its a Star; 14x20, gray interior, 6-ply or so, long rail mount, lug holes 2-3/8" apart. PM if that's what you're looking for.

Re: Vintage Kent Drums USA

FWIW, I had a 22,13,14x14 Kent set in champagne all with center lugs. I gave it to my nephew who still has it. I gave him a metal snare and kept the matching 8-lug Kent champagne snare drum. Some had...

Re: A snare as a tom/ anyone ever done this?

The original clubdate floor toms from the early 60's were 15x12. Part of their 22-13-15 setup, later changed to 20-12-14. So Ludwig has done it.
