Re: Slingerland Push Buttons

I bought them from him, it did take several weeks to receive them. They worked perfectly, which is good, since it's basically a short bolt with the top ground down a bit, and then chromed. As far as...

Re: What do I do to prepare a bearing edge for staining?

My advice to all stain jobs. Use a pre-stain. Especially if you are doing end-grain. Otherwise it will suck it in a be dark in some areas, and light in others...Splotchy if you will.

Re: Soldering snare wires

Cool! I'm not the only one to try this. The only thing I learned is that if you use an electric soldering gun, make sure that it is powerful enough to melt that much lead and keep it melted until it...

Re: Refurbish kick drum beater

He's correct. This is the solution. But I think that you can depress the felt ball enough to re-peen the shaft, especially with a new felt beater that hasn't hardened and crumbled like mine.

Re: Gretsch Micro-sensitive part info needed

I think that maybe that was a jerry-rigged fix for this. So many of these microsensitives had a weak collar that they broke off and screwed up the throw off mechanism. There is a great video here on...

Re: Gretsch Micro-sensitive part info needed

Is that an actual part that came with the Micro-sensitive? I don't remember that part for some reason. Maybe that was a jimmy-rigged piece to fix the issue that most micros suffer from.

Re: Keith Moon, surviving remains of "Pictures of Lily" kit?

My favorite kit, by the way. I wanted to buy the newer replication, but where the heck am I going to play out with that? Huge and obnoxious.

Re: Keith Moon, surviving remains of "Pictures of Lily" kit?

I'm sure that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland has several pieces, I'll look through my pics, but I remember seeing them there. Also several pieces from other tours.

Re: Beware Fibes 70s Vintage Snare Drum SFT Strainer Excellent Condition Clean

You're right, but it looks like it wouldn't be too hard to straighten it up and put one thicker washer on it that fits correctly instead of the off-centered ones that are stressing more on the one...

Re: Buffalo Drum Center

I've been going there ever since his old storefront. He has a great variety of percussion supplies and sets. Depending on the time of year, that place is loaded to the gills with drums. He is a...

Re: Is Anyone Still Using This Forum?

I'll keep coming here every day. I like the information and searching old posts. Facebook groups are full of anonymous cards that I don't respect the opinion of.

Re: Pearl 14 x 14 Floor Tom

Does it have the script Pearl badge? I'd be interested in a trade or cash. I just bought the matching 12" tom for $35.

I left a message about Pearl script badges from the sixties. I thought I saw a reply in notifications, but now I don't.

Re: OMG Say it isn't so . . . Neal Peart has passed

In that genre, I have to say that he's the best, and maintained that throughout his life. That's impressive. He was a good man and a great talent.

No. But if anybody needs the foil sticker Slingerland tags, I've got around six or seven of them.

Re: Info about Ebay seller "Counterhoop"

The sum of the parts make a whole. And, he's also a buyer, on eBay, of drums that are then sold by their parts. Is that enough fact for you? The moon landings are not fake, and the Earth is not flat.

Re: Info about Ebay seller "Counterhoop"

No. He takes drums apart, down to their screws, and sells the parts. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but please don't say that he's accumulating parts to resell...that's not what he's...
