Re: Premier 4 Piece Info Needed

nice set. 54 outfit seems accurate and late 50s- early 60s with that Super Ace snare. Shells will be birch with beech reinforcing rings. The sizes for the toms will be pre-international but...

Re: Fibes Bass Drum Spur Ends

I had one made for me and it's pretty hard to tell the difference compared to the factory part when screwed into the leg.

Re: Help identifying 60s/70s Premier kit please

if the bass drum is 20", as I suspect, it's a 303 outfit. If it's 22" it's a a B303. My guess is the toms are 12" 14" and 16" making it pre 72 (when the 13" tom was made available as mentioned) but...

Re: Drum Companies and Their Worst Ideas

That video is gold. It appears to show that a rope tied around a snare drum has absolutely no affect on the sound. Genius!
I would suggest that it would be more successful at removing over-tones if...

Re: Late '60s LM402s

I didn't think they were that uncommon but now you mention it I can't remember the last time I saw one. I often see 68/69 KS badge 400s though.

This is my Oct 68 402

Re: Yamaha Project - Soooo Dirty

it's finished, or as finished as I can get it without replacing loads of parts. It's been a mission but it's now a good players kit. I tried to refurbish and retain as many original parts as possible...

Re: Ludwig imperial lug breakage

I've had multiple similar failures with 80s bowties on Acrolites. Oddly the Blacrolite lugs always seem rock solid. As KO said, probably a rogue supplier in the 80s

and purely by chance I bought a 5" version locally which turned up today (it's not often you see a Dynasonic of any vintage for sale here). It's not like I was looking for a Dyna but they seemed to...

Re: Yamaha Project - Soooo Dirty

Perfect! Thanks so much. It's as I suspected the screws at the pivot point on my snare must've fallen out at some point and someone put one long nail through instead. It can't have a shaft running...

Re: Dynasonic 7 line 6.5 purchase. There's a catch

Yes Mike, one screw has been removed and possibly replaced. My theory here is that someone tried to remove the badge, found it too hard as it's also held on with the grommet, and then just gone with...

Re: My Yamaha 70's kit. Info needed.

Cool! Do you still have the snare or photos showing the throw off in some details? I need to know what's missing or not working properly on mine.

Re: Yamaha Project - Soooo Dirty

Because I'm on the other side of the world I think the cost would be double what I paid for the kit, unfortunately. I'll be having a good look locally though. Something might show up

Re: Yamaha Project - Soooo Dirty

Well there you go! I could not find one the same earlier in the week. This looks to be a single mounted tom set up. I wish the snare was with it as I reckon I'll be needing some reference to help get...

Granto - I tried the pencil paper trick but no luck. I will keep trying with some of the other suggestions though
