Re: Dancing Barn

Yes I've thought about that many times! I did buy a $20 cassette recorder in 1975 that I used on a few gigs to get some rather rough recordings.

Your barn makes me homesick - I grew up in upstate...

Just like Joe Morello's kit with an extra 16 ... beautiful !! I always wanted a kit like Joe played but like Mick says "You can't always get what you want"

Re: Is There A Doctor In The House

+1 with kdg
I'm not a doctor either but sure sounds like related to blood circulation restriction. Maybe you could get some improvement with a different throne ?

Re: Got some Rodeo drums in the house

Mikey777

Making 1 good 4 piece kit makes a lot of sense to me. Add a decent set of heads and you've got a complete matching kit without having to scrounge any more hardware. Add all the left overs...

Re: Lowrider Snare Stand

Here's a better pic of the WFL snare stand I shortened up to allow me to use my 12X15 marcher as a FT.

I only cut a section off the bottom tube. I don't remember exactly how much but made some...

Re: Rogers fans rejoice! It's a Holiday holiday!

I think they are a great find Mr. Toast with lots of character! A little TLC will make them your own.

+1 with Leedybdp !

I spent 5 years teaching drums back in the late 70s. I strongly...

Re: Alternate Wrap Material

Very Cool !! I like it.

Reminds me of the look of some of the expensive high-end snare drums of the 20s and 30s.

Leedybdp : You are certainly not alone. I'm also in downsize mode at 72.

I finally got to seriously thinking about it awhile back and asked myself " what are you going to do with all this music...

Re: How many of you are still friends with old bandmates?

Most are long lost but a select few remain very special friends ... priceless.

A true story if I may :

Guitar player Brian and I had played together in a respectable local upstate NY band in...

I bought a 1967 Ludwig Super Sensitive snare drum (ebay) from the Buffalo Drum Outlet 2 or 3 years ago. I talked with the owner (Paul Musilli) on the phone about the drum - nice guy. Was very happy...

Re: Happy 79th Birthday, Charlie

When I think of Charlie I think of the Jimmy H song lyric -

"so sing on singer and play on drummer ... till the end of time "

Charlie Watts .... too cool for school .... rock on buddy !!

Re: Floor tom cradle

FYI - Something to maybe consider.

Re: Time For Some Fun

Back to the original thread ....
My vote would be to hang with Joe Morello and his classy silver sparkle Ludwigs. He could help me with my left hand rebound technique.
