Re: Dream Cymbals?

The problem with telling someone who is buying their first set, to buy a used A is that, unless they know what to look for, they will become instantly confused by all the different kinds of A's. I...

Re: Why Play Vintage?

Things were different back when vintage drums were new. Having something that was manufactured from that time connects me to it.

In many ways, modern drums are "better"...because they are all as...

Re: Rarest of the pearls

IF citrus mod, psych red and mod orange are to be considered as an "oyster" pearl finish, then I'd put them right there with oyster pink...especially the citrus mod as being the rarest of the oyster...

Re: Rarest of the pearls

Yeah no one said that black oyster is rare. The OP asked which is the most sought-after. And I answered that I think black oyster is the most sought after BECAUSE of Ringo. So there ya go.

Re: Rarest of the pearls

I think you mean oyster pearls, specifically?

Re: Why doesn't anyone reverse engineer old K's?

Re: $475 to ship a drum set???

Yeah, it's ridiculous. And if you sell on eBay, they also gouge you...and PayPal takes a snip, too. It's no wonder that the actual value of an object has to be overblown these days. Otherwise, it...

Re: Slingerland vent/badge placement

Since there were no collectors when these so-called "running changes" were in effect, it doesn't really matter to collectors, now. Most collectors look for the most ideal and pristine examples they...

Re: Slingerland vent/badge placement

Well, that's you, I guess, leedy.

Leo Fender, Bill Ludwig, Bud Slingerland...et al....were businessmen looking to make a profit. None of the nitpicking that collectors do, now, has much to do with...
