Re: 60's Pearl bass drum restoration - LONG time coming!

After hunting down some period correct t-rods and claws, and springing for new hoops, it was finally, FINALLY ready to be put back together!

Re: 60's Pearl bass drum restoration - LONG time coming!

I suspected there might be something underneath what appeared to be latex paint. So I got a bottle of Goof Off and an old t-shirt and got to work...

Sometimes a restoration just takes a long, long time. Some of you might relate to this...

About 10 years ago I found a couple MIJ floor toms in blue sparkle, one of which was a Tempro, made by...

Re: Apollo drums

Don't do that! This is probably exactly how the set came in the mid-late 60s - without a floor tom. It's all together and looks like it's in good shape. This is a cool find! So if you cant live...

Re: Restoring/Cleaning of a '79/'83 Tama Imperialstar

Ugh... For some reason I often see cool old Tama snares suffer the steel wool fate. Those rust spots will come off easily with just some metal polish and a cotton cloth. I use a brand called Mr....

In case anyone is interested, this set is up on Craigslist, if you're local to Portland, Oregon. Thanks!

Re: Orphan reunited with family!

Deeply rusted hoops - any ideas?

Looking for some anti-rust measures for these guys. Soaking in vinegar worked for part of it, but there are places where the rust is caked to badly that the vinegar didn't do anything. I've done a...
