Re: I have never seen a bridge like this on a Jupiter Snare

Re: Slingerland Push Buttons

Jim's a great guy. We have known each other for more than thirty years. The only time our relationship was strained was over the politics of the past few years. Just stay completely away from...

Re: Slingerland Push Buttons

I would resort to wrapping the lug casing in soft cloth and holding it tightly in a vise with the stuck leg pointing toward the floor. Then, I would insert another leg or rod of the same diameter or...

Re: Slingerland Concert King

Just out of curiosity, would the same dating apply to Mardi Gras and Fiesta Pearl wraps? The drum department of my friend's store has Capri wrapped drums in two different pattern versions with the...

Re: What year are these Slingerland drums?

Thanks, Slingerfan. These are my youngest drums in the little collection. Since they are very much the same as Slingerland drums that I played in the 1960s, I'm comfortable with them.

What year are these Slingerland drums?

I bought this great little Slingerland set several years ago from a guy who had them laying among a lot of unused household items on the screen porch of his old house out in the Texas countryside. He...

Re: BR "flat-base" cymbal stand on eBay

The wrap looks like the typical wrap on Asian imports and some European imports. That wrap develops a sandpaper texture.

Re: Vintage Gretsch Pedals

Three of my other favorite pedals are the Slingerland Tempo King and it's clone the Leedy Shelly Manne pedal. The other pictures are of the pedal that came with a John Grey set that I used to own. I...

Re: Vintage Gretsch Pedals

The Gretsch Floating Action pedal that I have was found in a bin of miscellaneous items that a MARS store in Dallas was trying to get rid of before they went out of business. I know that the pedal...

Re: Vintage Gretsch Pedals

Thank you very much for posting that catalog. I don't know what year that particular catalog came out. but, it might be the same one from which I selected the components for my Blue Sparkle six piece...

Re: This is the Display Your Ludwig Drum Thread

I have ONE Ludwig drum. It's a Blackro snare It cost me $30 and is the best Ludwig drum I've ever played. I owned a Ludwig Standard Red Strata set for a couple of years that I picked up for very...

Re: Slingerland bass tuning nightmare

There must be some out-of-round area on that shell. I've never had that issue with any Slingerland or SlingerLeedy bass drum with reinforcement rings. I've owned many. Does your bass drum have...

Re: Vintage Gretsch Pedals

Rogers Swivomatic pedals are my all-time favorites. The Gretsch Floating Action pedal is one of my other favorite pedals. It is, indeed, simple and elegant...and, it is super dependable.

Re: Record Covers with (vintage) Drums on!

it looks even sillier today than it looked back in the mid-sixties. What looks sillier? The way that the guitar players held their guitars right under the chin. It looks like a little girl or a very...

Re: Slingerland Stage Band

It looks to be 16" diameter and 14" deep. I think that drum makers--especially Slingerland would use shells intended for marching snares, tenor drums, and tymp-toms to make floor toms for Stage band...

Re: Ringo's Hello, Goodbye mini Kit

I have a hunch that you can find tube lugs with the hole spacing to match the holes for those toy drum lugs. You would not have to do any drilling, and could return the toy lugs to the shell at any...

Re: Gigging with Vintage Drum Throne

I have a few vintage drum thrones I have used that date between the late 1950s and the early 1980s. They are all the standard type fold-up thrones that stores sold along with all of the major drum...

Re: Rogers Holiday

I see the collets. I was trying to be facetious and snide at the same time. When you have the absolute best tom mounts to have ever been devised, why would you put your tom on a snare drum stand? Are...
