Yes, it does exist!! A 6.5 deep metal DuAll. Our drum shop is auctioning this drum for a client (my former teacher in college) who in his 80’s has retired from playing. I’m posting a few photos here...

Yes, the knob tightens/ loosens the upper snares. The lever lowers the snares onto a felt strip so they don't rattle when not in use. Unfortunately the older upper snares stretch and can lose some...

Good observation, I agree about it not being maple. It is fairly light.., being European, Beech would make a lot more sense. The grain is more open than maple.

Cooper, I see that Carlton offered a one ply shell and placement of the vent over the butt plate. My strainer has no markings that I can find.

The drum is single ply. Measured the depth.. a tad over 4 3/4 inches. Who knows, maybe it was a custom built drum and not a company made drum?

In the new Gretsch Book... all the wood snare drums listed in the 30's look to be 3 ply. This is one ply.... ?

Picked this up last week. Strainer and clips make me think Leedy? but with tube lugs and vent over butt plate? 1930's?

Nickel over brass hoops
No engraving on hoops or strainer. No badge.

And to make things more confusing...

In the 1920's and 30's the term Super = parallel strainer.
Super Sensitive = parallel strainer plus the 2nd sensitive strainer under the top head.
