there is a big gaping hole where the muffler was which tells me that the fitting came loose and maybe some kids played with it over the years so pretty sure a baseball bat type with white felt..

hey Eric ..thanks for the info about hole spacing etc..At least with the P83 mounting position is less critical than the P87 where if you get it wrong it becomes very wrong... The more modern P87's...

There should be a serial number black ink stamp inside the snare mid-way up the side of it- away from snare fastening and muffler hole positions. Most of these Pippers were vertical grain birch...

That pedal I posted I'm pretty sure comes from a late 1950's early 1960 kit. The rectangular badges were used from 1959-60 .. and changed again before 1965 as a rough guess
