I've used a product called Evaporust with success. Rust Check Rust Wash is also good.

Re: 6-Lug Beverley snare battle.

Six luggers generally don't tune up as well as eights or tens, even twelves. Perhaps by putting some good Puresound wires on, that would help. I really like the dimensions of your snare though and...

Re: Glue recommendations for 1920's wrap.

Damn! Sorry, Wayne. It's a very good product. So many things are like that though. Just when you find something good, you discover it's not available in your own country. Very frustrating. Best of...

Re: Glue recommendations for 1920's wrap.

Hi, Wayne,
The gentleman who wraps my old drums always uses Lepage's green contact cement. I have never been disappointed and I have never seen it bleed through. Hope this helps.

Re: WFL Parade Drum Claws

Thank you very much for showing an interest, sir! Unfortunately, I don't even own a camera. Each claw is about 1 3/4 inches across. The top one is about 2 inches long. The bottom: 2 1/2 inches. It is...

WFL Parade Drum Claws

Here's another needle in the haystack, guys. I'm trying to locate two vintage WFL marching drum claws from around 1945-1950. Upper and lower. The kind with WFL stamped on them. I have all but the...

Re: 16x16 floor tom to snare drum.

Sorry to have not answered your question in a direct manner. I recently tried a Puresound Equalizer snare wire set to a vintage 15 inch WFL marcher and was very pleased with the effect. I have never...

Re: 16x16 floor tom to snare drum.

Hey, Olimpass!
What a cool project! Now that's thinking outside the box! Because of the sheer size of this snare, a 42 strand set of wires might give it too "fat" a sound, but maybe you'd like...

Re: Oof, someone hit the lotto today...

What a deal! I really bothers me though that those drums were placed on bricks when they were photographed. If they were mine, I would be a lot more careful.

Thank you, sir. That seems to be the general consensus. Maybe I'll try one out simply because I like experimenting. A red one might be pretty cool! Thanks again.

Re: Lowrider Snare Stand

Yep. I found an old butt plate that fit. I used the original strainer and just punched a hole though some plastic snare ribbons so that it would fit. The Puresound wires now sound pretty good! A lot...
