Re: Zildjian Vintage 14'' Hats

No expert, but this is what i learned from Mike..
Looks like a 70s thin stamp. there's the absence of the 3 dots in the Arabic writing and the H in Turkish is not aligned over the E in Made.

Re: Zildjian Vintage 14'' Hats

Post some photos of the stamps. There's a few here that will be able to tell you the time period the cymbals are from.

Re: Evans Calftone heads

I agree with your assessment. But playing today's music with louder volumes, for me coated ambassador or emperors work better. I play more blues, funk, classic country stuff with a few cover bands....

Re: Premier Genista Price Check

Almost looks like a 20" kick drum to me. Are you positive it's a 22?
Those Genista kits are/were either Premier's top of the line, or close to the top of the line kits. They were pretty...

Re: Evans Calftone heads

I bought two of these for my 13/16 toms on my WFL kit. I'm not really a fan of them. I took them back off and put my Remo Coated Ambassadors and I'm happy again. I didn't get near the projection in...

Re: Psychedelic Red 1969 Kick Restore

The original psych inlay for the bass drum may be pretty difficult to find. There are some pretty good re-makes out there that will work well though. Find those parts should be fairly easy. I'm...

Re: 1960's Ludwig drum set - need help identifying and pricing.

If you could take more photos of the interior of the shells, specifically where the wrap should be molded into wood plies.
Also, a photo of the top of the bass drum where the vent hole is. It...

Re: 1960's Ludwig drum set - need help identifying and pricing.

wflkurt- I notice something going on with the grommet on the bass drum. If what I'm seeing here is accurate, that's surely not original. What do you think?

Re: Humidity/moisture at gig...

The drums will be ok, just make sure you dry them off well if that happens again (which I'm sure you did). As for the electronics.. your guess is as good as mine with those.. electronics can be...

Re: Are early 70's Downbeat kits rare?

I feel like I haven't seen a whole bunch of them.. With music changing so much during those days, many were playing larger size drums. I've seen several over the years, but not often.

Re: Rogers Black Diamond Pearl Drums

Perhaps is a size thing? For me, I prefer a 22/13/16, 22/12/16, or a 20/12/14. I don't really know why... I just do.
That's a nice set though. I'm sure someone will come along for it

Re: Value of Date Stamp 1969 Acrolite

You can't go wrong with either a 60's or 70's Acrolite, in my opinion. Some say the 60s version has more resonance due to the thinner/lack of coating on the shell that the 70s version has. But...

Pantera is one of the handful of metal bands I like(d). In fact, they are probably the top of my list in that genre.

Good to hear!
Kits come and kits go.. but WFL's are forever guitar3

I just couldn't endorse trading a matched WFL kit like that for two mis-matched sets. Granted, that 26" bass drum is pretty...

Re: Three for One

That's tough. Depending on your drumming needs and the space available to store/play in would probably be the deciding factor, for me at least. The other kits offered are cool, but they aren't...
