Re: How High will it go 60's Ludwig BOP set

Yup. Because we are too informative here and this leads to high prices and split kit dealings. There are too many ,"How much is this worth, thanks", never heard from again posts. Too much , "it's...

Re: Question on a 20x18 Ludwig F.T.

I think it's 45, because I see a shine on it from the lighting inline with the shine on the shell. Like TEC said, not enough to show grommet damage but I see two inside circles and would guess it...

Re: Anybody re-lathed their old K's

Overweight ? Old K's strike another old K, if you put one on a drum kit that was not created yet when it was made, well it wont quite fit in because you hit it with wood and not Bronze. So the poor...

Re: Ludwig blue/olive non serial # badge question.

I'm +1 with Zenstat.

I only have a disagreement with a method of ID'n badges that can be placed on any BO drum which includes the impostor. I used color tint to confirm.

Re: Ludwig blue/olive non serial # badge question.

You can rely on boarder mistake, but not alignment.

Re: Ludwig blue/olive non serial # badge question.

Also note the alignment of the scratch patches too. The fake didn't quite get the tint correct from the darker original.

Re: Ludwig blue/olive non serial # badge question.

Side by side, same lighting, note the tint differences.

Re: Ludwig blue/olive non serial # badge question.

I've got pics too. You will never convince me this is a lighting difference.

I was wrong about dating between two decades because I found them on 70's vistalites too. So I throw that out the...

Re: Ludwig blue/olive non serial # badge question.

I think 1,400 is too much for the amount of damage on them.

Re: Ludwig blue/olive non serial # badge question.

The rack tom has the darker green olive too.

Re: Ludwig blue/olive non serial # badge question.

That was not my intent. I am under the impression that the darker
olive only existed after the 70's. Things noticeable from a distance, because you may not be close always are color tint and...

Re: Ludwig blue/olive non serial # badge question.

The repro's have a darker olive, the snare in question has the right tint.

Re: Bent single flange hoop on Leedy&Ludwig

No pull on it. It looks to me the top flange is bent inward from rim shots.

Re: 13" snare to rack tom project

I think you sanded too far, notice the stain does the same thing at the snare bed.

Because some snares are all metal, no.

Re: Anybody re-lathed their old K's

You would be changing it from a K to an OK Zildjian. Never again can you call it a K.

Re: Bass drum identification

Yes those are classic retractable spurs, but I have not seen them on the Classic Maple series. Maybe it was a short run. I can only find the fold back spurs on them. There are much better Ludwig...

Re: Buddy Rich Drum Set

The listing has a pic of Buddy adjusting his snare, standing next to the BD clearly showing the unfilled holes I questioned. That did it for me. It appears he moved it back and forth from factory...

Re: Bass drum identification

Is there a mark on the inside of the badge hole, looks like there was never a badge in that hole. The inside will have a burr mark if it did.
