Re: Craigslist In Your Area-What's the vibe?

Re: Craigslist In Your Area-What's the vibe?

I've sold quite a few items on CL in my area, which is the San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles. Yes, everyone wants an absolute bargain and want to pay pennies on the dollar for what things are...

Re: What did I just buy?!!! MIJ or Ludwig?!!

Dtjohn! Yes, unfortunately! I realized that as soon as I knew it was a Ludwig. Why would someone install these cheap MIJ parts when Ludwig replacements were plentiful? We may never know!

Hi TDK!

Yes, the SS snare drums have snare beds. It's the same shell as the Supraphonic and both have wide and shallow beds.

Re: What did I just buy?!!! MIJ or Ludwig?!!

Hi Jeff!

That's probably the reason! Still, I've seen some people cover perfectly good wraps simply because the color or style of wrap didn't jive with their tastes. Wouldn't it be cool to find an...

Re: Vintage Ludwig Stand Rivets

Very true! If the original rivets are just a bit loose, this will certainly work...and something I would certainly try myself.

Yes, I love that "arts and craft style wrap"...and all the staples attaching it to the shell! It would be pretty cool if the hoops are NOB!

Re: Vintage Ludwig Stand Rivets

I would agree with this! The biggest issue is flaring new rivets. You need a proper tool to be able to flare solid rivets, which I think is the style on these stands.

Re: What did I just buy?!!! MIJ or Ludwig?!!

grantro, kdg and DrumBob!

Thanks for the positive thoughts on this drum! It's hard to tell if the badge and grommet are still attached. There will be extra holes from the MIJ strainer and possibly...

What did I just buy?!!! MIJ or Ludwig?!!

Honestly, I swore up and down that I need NO MORE drums! While perusing for "MIJ" drums on eBay I came upon a title that read "VINTAGE 1960'S - 1970'S SNARE DRUM GREEN SPARKLE MADE IN JAPAN." The...

Re: Slingerland 1970-1972 Blue Agate

Very nice! True that this is not a catalog kit from the early 70's. We need to remember that the catalog kits were only a starting point to show what was considered popular at the time. With rock n...

Re: Slingerland vent/badge placement

Hi slingerfan!

I won't be home until late tomorrow, but I do have the serial numbers. Based on these numbers, they did appear to be around 1975. What's odd are the torpedo-style bass drum rods and...

Re: Slingerland vent/badge placement

Hi StickyFingers!

I've seen some of these Slingerland drums with the badge location high on the shell. I went through some of my downloaded pictures and came up with two of the them. The first...
