Re: Leedy & Luddy New Era Outfit

Te best chance for finding a Leedy & Ludwig 14" floor tom would be to look at one of these two sites: Hen's-teeth-R Us.com or Ya-gotta-be-jokin'.com. I suggest that you concentrate on finding the...

Hey... No politics in here! Of course, I'm kidding. Or am I?

Re: Ludwig Silver Sparkle Drums

Sometimes, we just have to hold on to a drum or a whole drum set if that drum or set is more valuable to us as trade bait than it would be to sell the drum or drum set. Been there....done that.

Projects during stay-at-home times

My wife and I have been pretty much staying in the house since February. We will venture out for necessary trips to various doctors' offices for procedures that cannot be handled with video virtual...

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

I doubt that the seller used this drum without legs, but that's just a guess. I still contend that a floor tom-sized drum hanging on a floor stand or on a suspension mount IS NOT A FLOOR TOM. Even if...

I agree with both of your ideas.

Re: Slingerland Yellow Jacket question

I will always champion the Rogers Swivomatic pedal with the Slingerland Tempo King and Gretsch Floating Action as equally acceptable back-ups. The old Squeak King has always been a major turn off to...

Re: Repair Project

"Or Best Offer" folks. The seller must realize that he may not get the full asking price. $1,000 total cost for the drums, freight charges, missing parts, wrap, and my labor seems attractive.

Re: Repair Project

Looks to me from the pictures and descriptions that a bass drum Swivo mount receiver, tom arm and three script badges might be the only missing items needed to rehab this set. i don't obsess over...

Re: Repair Project

If I did not recently acquire a great 1966 Rogers Top Hat set, I'd be interested in acquiring these three drums to rehab as a sweet little bop set. I would definitely cover these drums in a...

Re: American master drums usa

That puts a different spin on speculating about this drum's pedigree.

Re: American master drums usa

Would it be out of the question to consider that, way back then, the Gretsch factory produced special runs of drums for music stores or small companies without their own production facilities?

Re: Late 70's Lacquer over Brass Supraphonic

Wow! The nits are certainly being picked. I'm more than amused.

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

If he does not make good to you, you would do us all a favor by telling us his eBay seller's name so we can avoid purchasing from him.

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

You are justified in being peeved. The seller may not have intended to deceive you. But, he did not accurately represent the drum that he sold to you. Did he intend for the drum heads in the picture...

Re: Late 70's Lacquer over Brass Supraphonic

OK. First of all, I readily admit that I have absolutely no interest in the type of drum that is being analyzed here. As, a disinterested observer, the whole back and forth reminds me of someone with...

Re: Labor Day is a real holiday.

That sounds plausible to me. CBS cut off all R&D money for Rogers drums once they decided to sell that division of CBS Musical Instruments. So, Memriloc was the last innovation that was funded. Now,...

Re: Labor Day is a real holiday.

It was company lore that CBS wanted to consolidate the upper management team and production facilities of Fender, Rhodes Pianos, and Rogers Drums. Fender's management team was given the assignment of...

Re: Slingerland Deluxe Student Sparkling Green Pearl

I can empathize about adequate work space. I had a large workbench in the garage at our large house that we sold in 2013 to downsize our empty-nester lives. There is no workbench or room for one in...

Re: 1964 Slingerland kit on CL

I wouldn't be so quick to say that. The wrap is trimmed in a wavy line. If that's all that it is, the counter hoop hides that.

Re: 1964 Slingerland kit on CL

The marching drum conversion to floor tom looks very good except for the generic or Pearl leg mounts. It would be a good deal for the three WMP drums with the splash cymbal and pedals at $500. Most...

Re: Rogers 20" FT rarity??

In the era of excess (the 70s and 80s) they were not uncommon.
