The hoop touches the side of the mechnism, not the bottom. It has a new ludwig head on it that I bought a few days ago.

Thanks for the info!

I'm sure it's a super sensitive, here is an extra photo when the SS strainer and all are attached. The third and fourth hole for the rod are not visible on the photo's I have...

For my other drums: Ludwig legacy bassdrum, tom and two floottoms, The cases from 'Hardcase' are fine. I have glued extra protection foam inside them.

But for my SS ludwig snare they don't offer...

There is no protection foam in the interior.
When the snare is in the case, there is to mush pressure on the snareguards, which I think will bend them over time or dammage the shell when on the road...
