Re: Gretsch RB pawn shop find

That is a perfect match! and definitely lighter than the Gretsch. I am impressed and it gives me hope that mine will look equally as good when set up along with my Gretschs. I'll have enough to do...

Re: Gretsch RB pawn shop find

I can't see the bass drum to really compare the difference in color, but they look much different that the merlot. I originally had Maxwell redo my hoops in merlot and it looked awful when up against...

Re: Gretsch RB pawn shop find

I misspoke, Drum Supply. They told me Delmar needed a minimum order to do a run of the burgundy sparkle and it took five months. Communication wasn't easy, but I was able to speak with Andy twice to...

Re: Gretsch RB pawn shop find

Well here is an update I just needed to share. The set was dated to '65 and '66, a couple of tags from each year. I was once going to sell this set and use the profits to buy one of the new Rogers...

Isn't that a parallel strainer; Pearl's knockoff of the Ludwig supersensitive

Re: memories of a drummer - Bilboard magazine 1923: Ludwig, Leedy, Evans, Wilson

The Leedy Utility would be about $412.00 in today's dollars. Not a bad deal.

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

And the saga continues. Ebay will not step in. they tell me I can return the drum for a full refund or stop complaining. A partial refund has to be worked out with the seller, who is telling me to do...

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

The one negative rating was mine, so technically, he was at 100% positive before that although he only had one rating.

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

I agree, he's going to have a difficult time defending his statements once eBay looks at the pictures.

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

Luckily the pictures from the eBay ad are high resolution and it is easy to zoom in on the legs and see that they are in good shape, no rust, replacement rubber tips, and clearly Gretsch RB-era legs....

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

Just checked and a set of three legs is up for $99 plus $13 shipping on reverb, so that may be the way to go. Ask for a $115 refund or there abouts.

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

If he doesn't sent the legs, that is what I will do. Partial refund would be satisfactory.

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

I will let you know who it is once I find out if he is going to send the legs, which I highly doubt. I just sent him a pic of the floor tom head and told him, in so may words, that he lied when he...

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

Good advice. He wrote that the drum in the photo with the legs is a different drum. Well, here is a photo I just took, and the heads are the same, so he is lying about that, too. BasTa$d

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

My most recent response:

My plan has always been to order a sheet of Gretsch burgundy sparkle from Drum Maker and then ship the drum to Jack Lawton to rewrap it to match my existing set, as I...

Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

So I just received a used Gretsch RB 16" floor tom and the pictures implied it came with legs. The drum arrived and no legs. I write to the seller, pointing out that the legs were shown in the...

Re: Gretsch RB pawn shop find

I've been to literally dozens of pawn shops over the years and this is the only time I've found decent drums for a good price. Once ran across a Ludwig Hollywood set from the early 1970s and they...
