Re: Hand hammered? Zildjian A

Here is the Zildjian stamp. The cymbal has a "wavy" texture to it. It appears to have been made on a lathe but yet has dents consistently around the entire cymbal. My camera does not pick up the...

Re: How to (??)Replace Snares on Ludwig Classic Snare

This snare does not have the extended butt plate. It has a "clamp" style with two screws. The butt plate appears original, it is stamped "WFL". Of course a 55 year old snare could have had a part...

WFL Super Classic snare in Gold Sparkle?

I checked most of the old catalogues for the 1950s and 1960s. Did Ludwig make a gold sparkle? Or was this drum re-wrapped? Or do I have the wrong era? See below

From the few stories I have heard, Hinger snares were usually sold to students of Fred Hinger or to university orchestras. Anyone seen a recent sale?
