Re: The newbie and the 1950ís Slingerland Drum Set

The first cymbal is an A. Zildjian made in Massachusetts, the second is a Zyn, and the hats are UFIP cymbals made in Italy. Quality-wise, you may know that Zildjian always made the highest quality...

Re: The newbie and the 1950ís Slingerland Drum Set

Hey Jeff, that's a nice old Slingerland set. The date stamped inside what I believe to be the bass drum looks like 1960 if I'm not mistaken. You did a pretty fair job of setting them up, but Jimmy...

Re: UK 70's Aluminium Snare

You can cut the flesh hoop, or try a head that is purposely a bit oversized. Aquarian makes them.

Dino Danelli Clip: "Do You Feel It"

When I was learning to play drums in 1965, there was no drummer in rock who was as cool as Dino Danelli of The Rascals. He was a force of nature and a huge influence on me. Here's a clip of The...

Re: Who makes the most authentic vintage wrap?

I dunno, Mark. He's looking for Rose Pearl and Peacock Pearl, really old wraps. I don't of anybody who makes those wraps anymore.

Re: The Gretscherland

Yeah, I'd leave the interior alone. Who cares, right? I once added a Gretsch floor tom to a Slingerland set. The lugs are similar, and nobody knew the difference.

Re: Who makes the most authentic vintage wrap?

Mark...That website link doesn't work. I clicked on it repeatedly and nothing. I think the OP is looking for a more traditional classic wrap than what Bum Wrap sells.

OP, just contact Precision...

Posting Videos

Does anybody know why we can't post videos in that section? I'd like to post a cool video of Dino Danelli I have, but cannot.

Beware Of This Reverb Buyer: Mickey P.

I got an offer on my 22" Zildjian K Custom ride last Thursday, 10/31. I accepted Mickey P's offer. Two days pass, and no payment. Now it's Monday and I'm afraid I've been screwed, so I called Reverb,...

Re: "Best" Sounding Heads For MIJ Kits

Jim, I don't want to say, "I told you so," but well...I told you so! LoLoLoLo

At some point, give Evans UV-1s a try on your toms. I'm getting great results with them.

Wine Red or Blue Ripple

Does anyone market Wine Red or Blue Ripple wraps? Wine Red would be a viable choice for my old Slingerlands that remain in unrestored condition.

Russo Music in Asbury Park, NJ had a Blue Ripple...

Not interested in the drums, but is that Slingerland banner for sale too?

BTW, is picture #4 the inverted Tommy Lee set?

Re: 30s pioneer at auction

Not really a showpiece, IMO. It's funky and in need of some TLC, but it could be a showpiece with some work.

Re: Mod Orange bass drum or shell

I know there's the thrill of the hunt and finding original examples, but if it was me, I'd just buy a old beater Ludwig set and recover them in new Mod Orange wrap, of which, there's plenty out...

Re: Camco natural maple

Of course, it was too high. You used a UPS Store to pack it. They're obscenely expensive.
