Re: Rogers Big R Set: Are They Worth The Asking Price?

Think the asking price is high for just the 4 drums. Bass drum square head tension rods were offered in 1983 in last year of the run. Cannot tell from the picture if the interiors are clear or...

Re: What would be a good asking price?

Cost of the wrap will be couple of hundred with the donor shells. Likely mean drilling for different lugs. No vintage value, especially if you drill to fit your donor tom mounting hardware. ...

Re: Rogers kit with Dynasonic 1100 in Kalamazoo CL

Think the price might be a bit ambitious. The larger sizes will narrow down the market a bit, but also unusual setup will attract someone looking for larger sizes. Might need to have some patience,...

Re: My 18 ft

I went all out and converted a tom to a bass for a Faux Premier set. Collected vintage hardware and did all out conversion. Faux logo on the bass head as well. Fun project that sound pretty nice...

Re: Suddenly Inherited Rogers Kit From Brother - Restoration!

Why not put the repaired section at the top of the drum? Gonna be painted and likely not seen anyway. Then you have good wood to use with the protection piece.

Thumbs up Re: Suddenly Inherited Rogers Kit From Brother - Restoration!

Great. Thought at first you were going to use the metal strips to replace some of the wood in the hoop.........................

DUH! This makes way more sense.

Re: Suddenly Inherited Rogers Kit From Brother - Restoration!

Tin foil crumpled up and most any liquid will work well. I have also used green nylon scrubbing pads on the spurs and tom arms with good results. No chrome there to scratch.

Can't wait for the...

Agree on new thread. But maybe add the link to this thread in the beginning of your thread so it's clear what is being done.

Can't wait.

Played a Portland gig was for a 50th birthday party for a friend of one band's guitar player. My wife and I made a weekend of it as she spent time with a friend who lives in Portland as well.

It...

Re: Love selling vintage drums, hate packing to ship

Easiest is to take them to a Pack and Ship place. More costly, but way less hassle. Advantage it something is damaged in shipping, they cannot say it was not packed correctly.

Me, I ALMOST enjoy...

Re: I Goofed.... Rogers Experts please look again

Import snare, likely Brooks May. Not a bad drum, but real Rogers are in the price range.

Re: Riddle me THIS....

Riddle Me This: If a guitar player shows up with a beat to crap Tele or Gibson, people love it.

If a drummer shows up with a drum set in the same condition, they would ask him to go home.

Re: What the hell did I buy

Slingerland had a 2 for 1 Chrome Brass Snare Drum Shell 6.5x14 with 12 lugs top, 6 lugs bottom.

Way different than what you have, but same lug idea. Have a feeling yours is someone's custom...

Don't think you object. Just making sure those not familiar with Rogers collets know quality original spec replacements are out there (not originally made by Rogers) and will not hurt the value of...

Re: 70ís Rogers Butcher Block

From the floor tom leg mounts, looks like a first issue of the Memriloc sets with swivomatic mounts. Later sets had the Memriloc legs and mounts.

And I know of no one who objected to replacing...
