Re: Restoring Ludwig Baseball Bat Felt Mufflers

Update: Felt has been sourced.

Does anyone have a not trashed baseball bat muffler felt pad that they could measure the depth and head diameter and bottom diameter of the rivets on? Would be...

Re: Ludwig Standard Interior

Yup!

It's in perfect condition. The strip is so well drilled, I almost have to wonder if someone with some professional experience did it. It's fits in like a glove, all the holes are perfect.

Ludwig Standard Interior

Hey y'all

Picked up this Ludwig Standard snare. I know usually they had the granitone interior. This one does, but for some reason, someone added a metal strip throughout the interior. Anyone ever...

Re: Where have all the Leedys Gone

I've got one that I'm fixing up right now and will probably end up selling because I don't have space.

Silver sparkle from the late 50s, lovely kit (with some minor issues.)

Re: Slingerland Push Buttons

Good news! The leg going in straight I got unstuck with a rubber mallet as suggested.

Now working on the second one with the angled leg. Unfortunately there's not really any play at all so this...

Re: Slingerland Push Buttons

Thanks for all the input everyone. I think I've got a lead on some good substitutes at a local hardware store.

Now regarding these stuck legs...I've tried everything. Brute force, various...

Re: Slingerland Push Buttons

I have! I've got the casing alone and the leg is just stuck inside. I've tried everything. Not entirely sure what the leg is even stuck on at this point, even did some cleaning of the inside.

...

Re: Slingerland Push Buttons

I retract my previous comment about rivets. Did not realize they were threaded at the end.

That being said, anyone got any advice on how to get a stuck leg out of one of these confounded things?

Slingerland Push Buttons

In a statement that will surprise no one, the push buttons on the Slingerland floor tom I got are long gone.

Now I know the standard solution is to just swap over to wing nut legs, but I'm...

Re: Restoring Ludwig Baseball Bat Felt Mufflers

I'll see what I can do! Trying to source some matching red felt first if I go that route instead of cleaning it up. It's in pretty chewed up condition so I'd love to find some felt but finding the...

Re: Restoring Ludwig Baseball Bat Felt Mufflers

Thanks Thin Shell! Going to attempt to clean the felt first, but something tells me it's going to end up with me going the other direction. Do you happen to know the size of the semi-tubular rivets...

Restoring Ludwig Baseball Bat Felt Mufflers

Has anyone here ever attempted to replace the felt on a Ludwig baseball bat muffler? If so, any advice for how to do it? I'm thinking it can't be super tough, thinking I'd just need some rivets, but...

Ludwig Gold Painted Hoops?

Hey, I saw a pic of this drum on Reverb and was wondering if anyone knew anything about Ludwig or WFL at any point in their history using gold painted bass hoops. The grommet on the badge also isn't...

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

Even if the legs weren't sitting on the same drum. If the legs weren't included in the auction/sale, why would that picture even be there? Seller needs some better excuses.

Complete BS that the...

Gretsch Throwoff Hole Pattern?

Hey everyone,

Just got this Gretsch snare from the late 50s/early 60s. (I think 58?) and a previous owner had replaced the original snare throwoff with a Rogers Dyna throw-off.

Does anyone...

Re: Snareweight Pro-Lock

You clip a snareweight onto your snare to get that fat, wallet sound.

The pro-lock appears to just be the clip you use to clip your snareweight on if your drum has diecast hoops.

Re: Leedy Mardi Gras Snare

@Slingerfan, you're right, the grommet is a bit deformed, but as far I can tell it's original (the badge is tight and the grommet seems correct for a Leedy.) It's almost looks like it got squished...
