Re: Rogers Expert Please Help

The lug mark on the right is most obvious. It is between the yellow marks.

Re: Rogers Expert Please Help

In your first photo I can clearly see the outline of B&B lugs. Not the entire length of it, but definitely parts of it, on the edges of both lugs.

Re: Nikkan marching school snare

I remember being in a marching drum corps in the early 70’s. At a parade in Cuyahoga Falls, there was a flag and baton corps made up of little kids, probably 10 - 13 years old. They were propelled...

Re: Rogers / Slingerland replacement & repair parts

Leedy,
I am well aware of what facebook is all about. My remark was addressing the apparent bewilderment expressed by the OP that others were not using that medium.

Re: Rogers / Slingerland replacement & repair parts

Hello Steve,
I don’t know you and therefore don’t want to read too much into your word choice, but it appeared to me that your statement about people choosing not to use facebook “for whatever...

Very nice work. That snare looks factory fresh and ready to serve another 100 years.

Re: Identification help

“Back in the day” I worked for Penneys for a few years. It came to me immediately. Can’t speak for Thin Shell, but sometimes age has its advantages.

I concur with Thin Shell. That is an early JC Penney logo.

Re: Majestic Deluxe 3-piece

Here they are together. They look pretty good from 6 feet away.

Just posted them on ebay with a starting bid of $75 and $100 shipping. We’ll see if we get any bites. Some of the MIJ sets on...

Re: Wet sanding black diamond pearl wrap

I should say that I didn’t go straight from 600 to 1500 grit. I used 600, 1000, 1200, then 1500.

Re: Wet sanding black diamond pearl wrap

I haven’t sanded BDP, but did sand sky blue pearl with pretty good results. The color change was obvious, and the sheen was pretty close to original. The finer your sanding medium, the glossier the...

Re: Majestic Deluxe 3-piece

Okay, I disassembled the drums. I polished up all the chrome work with Flitz polish, and occasionally used Nevr-Dull. Most of the metal is shiny, but small bumps in the chrome are most everywhere. ...

Majestic Deluxe 3-piece

I wasn’t in the market for a new set, but when I spotted a local Craigslist ad for this Majestic set, asking only $30, I almost broke a finger sending a text reply.

It’s pretty complete: the wrap...

I’m with you, JR. Due to Covid I have been doing remote recording with friends alot lately. Try to play “Ticket to Ride.” During the verse, the last snare flam of each pattern is somewhere between...

Re: Pearl tom stand

Sorry, I don’t have the stand you seek. But I did have those exact toms back in the day. Loved ‘em! Fiberglass, right? I have no idea how, when or why we parted ways. (sob)

I think Mr. DownTownFarmer is on to something. Mine looks much like yours, but there is a subtle difference. Note the crease in the first photo. From the side, mine looks very much like yours but...

Re: Tom Placement

JR,
I have the same set as you and noticed the same badge issue. I used to be against using a tom on a stand, thinking that it moved it too far away, and that I should use the mount cuz that was...

Re: Sonor Teardrop
