Re: Removing caked on stubborn rust from chrome MIJ hoop

I've recently started using one of two products on rust. Quick-Glo is a miracle product that I cannot recommend enough. It's astonishing how well it works.

Re: Making Friends With a Machinist

Wow Bob, I may need to go grab a 6 pack of beer and pay Ziggy a visit. I've got a specific eye screw from an old Slingerland I can't seem to find and he might be the man for me.

Re: Cleaning calfskin heads

Meant to say kdg, I appreciated your advice. Don't want to seem like I ignored it, but unfortunately, those stick marks were a bit too stuck on!

Before and after below. I'm not sure if I really...

Well, I'm responding to this for anyone who wonders this in the future.

Re: Two estate sale finds

That makes a lot of sense actually. I'm definitely going to frame it or laminate it (Probably the former) because I want to preserve it with the kit. Definitely feels like a piece of history to me. I...

Re: Slingerland Radio King- is this a good deal?

I'd buy it for $750. I wouldn't think twice. (Assuming it wasn't in deplorable condition.)

Re: Two estate sale finds

From what I can tell looking at catalogs of the era, and current listings, the snares came with the P-83, so I think it is original!

Re: Two estate sale finds

The entire set was there, but the only had painted over it red. I may go back and try to buy it now that I've realized I might actually have the time to work on it.

Re: What's with Acrolite (and Blackrolite) prices?

On one hand, I'm pretty sure (non keystone) Acrolites grow on trees, they're all over the place. I finally got one recently (a post on that to come). So I don't know why people are willing to buy...
