Re: Slingerland/Tama

Re: !!! JP2Creations web site down

Jim's a great guy. His parts saved my first kit, a late '60s Slingerland my dad bought for me when I was in high school.

Always found him easy to reach and talk to. Glad he's still out there.

Gretsch Era Slingerland Lite ID

Hello. I'm a little mystified as to how to tell whether late '80's-early '90's Slings. were from the "Lite," "Spirit," or "Artist Custom" Series.

The Lites were US made and the others were...

Re: Attaching snare wires to slingerland rapid strainer

I can play loud and hard, and I've never even come close to snapping snare string. I use Pearl's string these days. It's pretty strong.

When I was younger, I used to use fishing line. Worked...

Re: Slingerland Serial Numbers

Thanks, Doctor.

There are a couple differences between my kit and Agop's, other than the color. The mount on the bass is plain aluminum, no Slingerland decal. My 13" tom has a chrome mount,...

First of all, check this link out:

I have a WMP kit with the aluminum set-o-matic, but mine is a double, since the kit is a five-piece. ...

Ludwig & Ludwig Universal 6-lug value/questions

I played an Elkhart L&L 6-lugger today, and liked it quite a bit. It looks just like the one pictured in the webmaster's collection. It has to be one of the lightest metal shell snares ever made.

Sling 8x12 tom in WMP - Niles brass badge

I'm looking to augment a 22/13/16 WMP Slingerland set from the Niles (brass badge, serial number, chocolate milk inners) era with a 12" tom.

My kit's in great shape, with minimal fade, so I'd like...

Re: RK concerns

I have a 6 1/2" deep '30s RK in gold/green duco, with the adjustable extension bridges, which apparently dates it to 1936-7. The paint is chipped, but about 85-90% of it's there. It's definitely a...

Re: Puresound Zoomatic snare help

Thanks for the comments. I took the webmaster's advice and got a more favorable result, though I'm still a bit mystified as to why Sling. engineered the Zoomatic wires the way they did.

I like...

Re: 1930's Slingerland, Should I play

jujubead, nice score. I wish I had room for a kit like that.

I don't think I could resist gigging those at least once, if they were mine. And anything you do to get them into gigging shape is...

Puresound Zoomatic snare help

This is my first post. Nice to see so much Slingerland info here.

I have a set of those Puresound Zoomatic snares and I'm curious about the correct way to position 'em in the snare bed. I've...
