Re: Marco Polo?

Anyone here think it’s a Yamaha drum? It does have wood hoops too with matching inlay.

Thanks for everyone’s input.

Marco Polo?

Hi, I picked this up from craigslist not long ago and wonder if this is the actual brand name of the drum or just a little sticker someone put on.

Also I've been told this might be a Yamaha so any...

Ludwig 14" red sparkle floor tom

Hi, I haven't posted in a while but my brother is looking to sell his 1965 Ludwig 3 ply white interior original wrap 14" floor. It's missing 8 tension rods and 3 wing screws for the let brackets....

Re: 60's Gretsch 18" bass drum on ebay - $99 no reserve

I'm curious to see where this goes too. I'd say it's worth a lot more, I paid more for my phonic 18", but not much more.

Looks like a nice drum, good luck with the auction!

Re: Who Here Uses a 26" or Larger Ride?

Haha, I know what you mean! I love playing the 30", I took it to a practice with this folk/country band I was with and they told me not to bring it back! Guitar players just don't understand...

Re: Who Here Uses a 26" or Larger Ride?

Yes I use 26" trans-stamp (4414g) that I gigged with the last band I was in. I'll try to get a video up so you can hear it. It's dark and not gongy. Nice stick over the wash. Lots of wobble to it!

Re: Sonor vintage snarewires

I'm afraid in that condition there might not be anyone interested in them. If they were in good condition probably 20-30 USD or a little more. These were a clone to the ludwigs in the late 60's early...

Re: So I have some Premier's, I'm just not sure which!

A local drummer who is into premier just told me the other day they sometimes had mahogany bass and snare with birch toms, usually the floor though.

Bet these sound real nice!

Re: I Love The Drums

That's good playing. I like your description of a "rock guy as a frustrated jazz drummer". Fits me perfectly as well.

Re: Drop clutch

The Sonor one needs to be used with a hex shape rod. I love that clutch but the only draw back is you have to remove the top hat and then adjust the nut to tighten or loosen the cymbal.

Re: Dynasonic Snare Wire FRAME

I made an adjusting screw with nut that works perfect on these frames all from parts from Ace hardware. Email me for a plan, I might even have pics. sonor13@sbcglobal.net

Re: Sonor Champion

Those look like super champions with outer veneer of rosewood. Nice drums for sure. This is what later became phonics.

60's Sonor "Havanna Gold". There's an auction for a set on eBay right now. I'll post a link later when I'm on my home computer. I'd buy some right now.

Re: 22 inch Dream /Bliss/Wuhan

For $50 i'd grab it since it's a 22". I've only played on them in a store but they have always been a nice sounding cymbal.

Good luck and keep us posted on your decision, i'd like to hear it.

Re: Avedis indentification

50's for sure. That looks like a nice cymbal. I used to shy away from anything over 1450g but I've had a few in the weight range as this one and they are very nice sounding and explosive. The last...

I'm so glad the vintage world doesn't recognize 80's phonics... Please help keep the prices down on these superior drums!
