Re: List your biggest Snare Drum disappointments

Re: Slingerland bop kit 18,14,12

Yes they are valuable. Slingerland 18s are probably more rare than any of the other big brands. That said, they unfortunately do not command as high of a price as the others. Probably around...

Re: What was your best score?

I've had a lot of good scores, but probably the best was a '66 Slingerland Modern Jazz Outfit in silver sparkle w/Gene Krupa Sound King snare. Bought from the original owner, never gigged, beautiful...

Re: My new RK

Nice! I like the chipped duco look myself, kinda along the same lines as the "relic'd" guitars that people are paying extra for these days. Nothing says mojo like a drum that was obviously gigged! Is...

Re: Slingerland Wrap

You can tell the difference by the presence of silver and copper flecks in the wrap. Silver/copper=champagne, sparkling pink is just pink crushed glass, no silver or copper in the finish.

Re: Whiplash

I really thought his character was great. He is made out to be the bad guy, but the whole time he is pushing Neiman to greatness. His discussion with Neiman at the jazz club about Charlie Parker was...
