Re: Rogers "Butterfly" Wing screw sizes?

I never left the vintage hardware behind. I still have quite a few giggable stands that go all the way back to the mid 1950s. Most of those stands, irrespective of the brand name on them, were made...

Re: Rogers "Butterfly" Wing screw sizes?

In the 1960s, when the band was travelling and I needed a bolt or screw or nut for my drums, small town hardware stores were where I would find a widget to patch up whatever had broken. The music...

Re: Ludwig Ghost pedal

My first good bass drum pedal was a 1961 Rogers Swivomatic pedal with the one-piece footboard. I used that pedal for close to twenty years. i replaced or repaired most of the structural parts of the...

Re: Slingerland Cordova

The father of a friend operated a small music store in Connecticut before he retired (as is instructed in the Old Testament) to Florida. The last I knew, he still had his copper-wrapped Slingerland...

Re: Rogers 9-72 Paper Labels

Why don't we just let the uneducated people go on thinking that they were all mas in September of 1972?

Re: Slingerland Cordova

One reason I have been a Slingerland fan for several decades is their offerings of wraps that other drum companies did not offer. Some of these unique wraps were duds when it came to drum sales. Some...

Re: Slingerland Cordova

Yep... go figure. As a young drummer, there were a few wraps that i did not want to have for my gigging drum sets because the "old guys" played White Marine Pearl, Silver Sparkle, and Champagne...

Re: Slingerland Cordova

I know that I said I like the oddball drum wraps. But, a big exception is the Aztec group of wraps from Singerland. I hated these wraps when they were used as textured wallpaper in houses in the...

Re: Slingerland Cordova

That's the same thought I have about Ludwig's lame attempt at White Marine Pearl. But, some people like it. Meanwhile, I love some of the oddball drum wraps that most other drummers wouldn't ever...

Re: This is the Display Your Camco Drums Thread

1966bmx... Now you can channel your inner Dennis Wilson. I'm also perversely attracted to Satin Flame (Moire) drum wraps. I gigged a set of Sliingerland Black Satin Flame drums in that same...

Re: This is the Display Your Leedy Drums Thread

1963 Shelly Manne set (9x13, 16x16, 14x20, matching 5x14 snare drum in Black Diamond Pearl). They came to me a few years ago in pristine condition except for some well-worn batter heads with Henry...

Re: Slingerland Black Diamond Pearl

A little piece of tape (duct tape or painter's tape on the round rod at the spot where the rod goes into the receiver will help to keep it in place.

Re: Slingerland Black Diamond Pearl

I will once again champion the rail consolette. If the components of the mounting system are all in good working order, any problem with positioning a tom to a good playing position is not the fault...

Re: Rogers Silver Sparkle

Keep the Slingies. They're just as good. The guy with the Rogers set wants too much.

Re: Slingerland Black Diamond Pearl

Give me five minutes with you sitting behind those Slingies, and I'll have the 8x12 positioned to a comfortable orientation for you. The arm with the spade on the end of it is the component that can...

Re: Slingerland Black Diamond Pearl

I'm trying to figure out the purpose for those two holes near the bottom of the floor tom. The previous owner must have mounted something there. maybe a cymbal mount? The factory-installed cymbal...
