Re: composition of my Ludwigs

Thanks. That sounds reasonable. I may end up keeping this kit and selling my modern kit.

Re: composition of my Ludwigs

Yes, I would never call them a Ringo set in an ad. I just call them that compared to my other kits. Wrong color and sizes for a Ringo kit.

Thanks.

Re: composition of my Ludwigs

Yes, marko, the bass drum has 2 pairs of telescoping spurs. Does that mean anything special?

Thanks.

Re: composition of my Ludwigs

Thanks Mike. Yes, the interiors are white. I would guess they would be called 'classics' since I added the snare later, although it's from the same time period.

Anyway, I appreciate the...

composition of my Ludwigs

Hi,

I have a Ludwig kit from the mid-sixties. I call it a Ringo kit, but it's actually BDP with 13/16/20 drum sizes. What would the wood make up of these drums be? My eyes are quite bad, and I...

Wanted: First generation Swivomatic bass pedal

I have a friend in the UK who is looking for one. He plays a Canopus Bop kit, which has a 15" bass drum, and he thinks the Swivo pedal (the very first ones, with the flat board) would be a good fit....

Re: What wood Dyna-sonic?

I've had a few PMs about the drum. Here is the link:

As I've told those who have contacted me, that is...

Re: What wood Dyna-sonic?

Yes, on the advice of others here, I contacted Mr. Cangany about the drum before I put it up for sale. I'm afraid he didn't give me the courtesy of a reply. But I know he's the end all be all...

Re: What wood Dyna-sonic?

Well, it surprises me that Tommyp was misinformed. But you are the acknowledged Rogers expert in this place, so I'll maybe wait until some others chime in.

Thanks so much for the reply.

Re: What wood Dyna-sonic?

Thanks Tommy. I'm selling my collectibles, and only keeping drums that I play a lot. Unfortunately, my same era Powertone sounds better to my ears, so I'm going to pass this one along.

Thanks...

What wood Dyna-sonic?

I have a mid-60s wooden Dyna-sonic. What wood and number of plies would that be? It sounds like a maple drum, but I'd like to be sure.

Thanks.

Re: How many plies on '53 Radio King?

Thanks again gentlemen. It's a drum I don't really want to get rid of, but I have a Cloud Badge RK (same size), that sounds identical to it, and I'm trying to trim my collection down to the...

Re: How many plies on '53 Radio King?

Yes, Andrew. A potential buyer wants to know, and my eyes aren't what they used to be. So it's a single ply maple, correct?

Thanks so much.

How many plies on '53 Radio King?

I have a '53 Slingerland Gene Krupa 7 x 14 Radio King. I can't tell by looking at it how many plies it has. Does anyone know what the number of plies should be on this drum? Also, if you know the...

'53 Slingerland Gene Krupa/RK WMP

Beautiful drum. Excellent condition, and complete with the "antenna" usually missing from most other clamshell throws. Looks and plays fantastic! WMP is slightly yellowed as would be expected with a...

Re: Can't upload pics or contact admin.

Hi Tommy,

I take it you aren't having any luck. I've put an ad up of the drum, but it's not going to sell without pics.

Thank you for your hard work.

Re: Can't upload pics or contact admin.

Was someone dissing Ringo? What an idiot. Lots people with better chops, but he was a human metronome, and always came up with great drum parts. Very melodic. I know this is no place for a rant,...

Nope. Keeps saying I'm missing a security token, whatever that is. Also there's also the problem that when I try to contact the admin, by pressing the link, it lets me write a message, then when I...
