Re: Is This A Solid Shell Drum?

I believe v-more2000 meant to say the washers and screws are genuine Slingerland.
They are not factory. This is definitely not a Slingerland shell or a solid shell. Interior grain runs vertical...

Re: What make/model/year

Agreed. It is not a good idea to date drums by serial numbers alone. All the attributes should be considered.

Re: Is This A Solid Shell Drum?

Need a picture of the bearing edges with hoop and head removed. Also another picture of the inner shell. It may just be the picture but the grain on the inside appears to be running in the wrong...

Re: Rogers advice needed please! 20" Fullerton*bass drum spur collet catching on plat

The carriage bolt was not raised, the collet is actually bent toward the carriage bolt causing the contact. The collet could bend without damaging the shell. Good job Mark.

Re: Rogers set I got, what model is this set

Leedybdp, your "late sixties" Slingerlands are actually early seventies (no black/silver badges in the 60's) and are likely the cataloged set Modern Jazz Outfit 9N. ...

Re: 1964 Slingerland Gene Krupa Deluxe

Thanks, skins_. Based on those serials something later in the year (Oct. - Dec.) would be expected.

Re: 1964 Slingerland Gene Krupa Deluxe

Very nice. Could you share serial numbers and actual date stamps for BD and snare? Expected serial range is approx. 30xxx - 60xxx.

Re: Old K Alert...Old K Alert.. Man your stations man your stations...

My previous post is not entirely correct. All three bid retractions occurred on July 2nd but the first one was in the morning, by the leading bidder, which effectively put another bidder in the...

Re: Old K Alert...Old K Alert.. Man your stations man your stations...

Looking at the bid retraction summary all three bids were retracted on July 2nd (strange). The sound video was there well before that. The dates you posted are actually original bidding dates. It...

How to put this delicately; You may have disregarded your own "golden rule" on these (LOL). Sometimes a project just calls to you though. Anticipating great things here.

Re: !!! JP2Creations web site down

Mark, I believe I saw them on eBay. 2R kit listed as a "Jet", Sep./Oct. '65 date stamps, metal BD hoops, white flecks in the red sparkle?

Re: American Greed-Vintage Drum Parts Edition.......

Hey V, you should re-read the listing. $39.95 is for ONE! Three available, one sold. The one that was sold was purchased at a bargain price of $19.99.

Here's a repro. The years of use stated for this badge are incorrect and it appears to be silk-screened rather than etched like the originals. ...
