Re: New 20 inch BD heads won't fit on Gretsch BD?

Drummer21 has the universal solution to RB head problems. Just cut the head collars in quarters.

Re: Happy bday shelly

Jag, I love you brother, but do you ever read your posts before you hit 'send'? Sometimes they're downright cryptic!!

So what does '28' have to do with Shelley Manne's birthday??

You definitely...

Re: Is Anyone Still Using This Forum?

I check in almost daily, but I will say that this is usually the last place I rely on to post ads for drums that I'm selling. Just too hard to post decent pics. My pecking order for posting for sale...

Re: Happy New Year!

Since moving out of my rented storage locker, and incorporating about 20 kits into my house, my wife has been reminding me to revisit/adjust our insurance policy as well. Thank you for the reminder. ...

Re: Gretsch guys-need help: Bass drum rim placement

Flattest edge should go against the drumhead. Not certain which that would be, from your round vs tapered description.

Re: Zildjian without stamp

It happens, factories are busy places. You have an anomaly.

At the same time, plenty of Zildjian cymbals documented with two stamps. I have a 14" trans stamp era with two.

Re: Would You Buy This

Heavens, no on the MIJ, especially if you are directly comparing the two, value-wise. Not even close.

Re: Would You Buy This

Somebody needs to figure out a way to replace the LW modular hardware in some tasteful way. Then there may emerge more of a market for these 80's/early 90's drums.

But $450? That is very...

Re: Ludwig Snare Drum L 472 Rock/Concert 14X6.5 Blue Cortex P87 Wire Strainer 1980s

Hi Dean, An interesting drum for certain. I read the ebay write-up. Perhaps it's the unfamiliarity with very late-chicago era Ludwig that many of us have. Collectable? Certainly, but perhaps not just...

Re: Ludwig Standard

Nice pick up and a beautiful color. Personally, I would have walked away if I couldn't get the matching snare as well, just something about keeping things together for me. Owner had an emotional...

Re: 22" 50,s hollow logo Zildjy

Hogwash. New cymbal makers are trying to emulate the sound that you possess in that 50s cymbal. What does that tell you?

Re: Rogers dynasonic

Rare? You bet! One of a kind I would say. What other 6.5 seven line has custom snare beds?

Now, as for value I would say, someone took a $750 snare and turned it into a parts drum.

Hopefully...

Re: Help dating a Kent kit?

Re: Rogers Big R Set: Are They Worth The Asking Price?

That's a hard-to-find color, and gorgeous as well. If you're going to keep it, it all depends on YOU.

I assume that kit was produced near the end of the Rogers run, when they had switched from...

Re: This Is The Least Active Forum Ever

Having VDF (and DFO) are so much better than the FB groups, even though I am active there as well. You can't do research on FB pages. Asking for opinions, yes; showing off your new pickups,...
