I have paid two...

Re: Star Drum Experts Help Please

Black Label the black paint on the interiors was applied by a previous owner
from the factory, Star would have either painted the interiors grey
or used no paint at all
They are the thicker...

Mod Orange bass drum or shell

To match these three born together toms
the purple is pretty much faded away
would consider any size must be drilled for separate lug sets

Re: What would you offer?

Yes the large percentage may be beyond useable

Kent floor tom champagne sparkle

To match the pictured bass and toms
(they sat around on reverb for months)

Would consider any size or condition as long as the wrap is decent
must be drilled for separate lug sets, for each...

Re: Old Man Rant: Something I hope never happens to drums.

I too would not care much for new drums with artificial road wear or patina.
But I do like those vintage kits, that are well used and/or have undergone a bonehead mod or two. those that have sort...

Re: Clear Sound "Made in Japan".

Love the drum kit
The badges are foil stickers rather tin or brass
so I think they are late 60's early 70's at very oldest
The Gretsch cloned lugs are similar to those found on Del Ray, Rocket,...

Re: Early Tempro snare?

Salty I have been doing internet searches for Star made Tempo kits like yours for a few years those seem to be pretty rare and another example of what began as a Star label and later became a Pearl
