While I agree that this is correct, I find absolutely no mention of Slingerland when reading the 80's and 90's section. You'd think this would be mentioned. Unless you read The Slingerland Book,...

I have both editions of The Slingerland Book and couldn't find this info. But, as you mentioned, it's probably "deep in a paragraph somewhere"!

Your first link really shows what jmcohen says! It does show this around the 1986 time frame. This is information I haven't been able to find. Thanks again!

The HSS era is from 1990-1994. After extensive research, I've still never been able to find out exactly what HSS stands for! I do know that they were a musical distributor for more than just drums....

That eBay kit appears to be from the early 90's HSS era and would be the Artist Classic series. Five-ply shells, consisting of inner/outer plies of Canadian Maple, with three inner mahogany plies....
