Re: Performance Disaster

Second song of a set I put the bass pedal clean through the bass drum head. I had been meaning to change it the week prior but my shipment got delayed and I didn't get it in time.

I ended up...

Re: Finally finished my Rogers restoration

Virgin 22 bass drum. As far as I know they only existed as the second bass drum in a double bass kit.

Re: Finally finished my Rogers restoration

This kit is a true survivor. Every drum has the stapled factor paper with serial number still inside it in perfect condition.

Re: Finally finished my Rogers restoration

I used Simple Green for the all of the dirt and grime and then Pledge after it was clean. I figure they're basically hard wood laminate so it would work.

Re: Finally finished my Rogers restoration

That's what I assume. It came with 2 16" floor toms.

Finally finished my Rogers restoration

A feew months ago I scored a great set of Rogers drums. I finally finished the mini restoration I did and they are now resting comfortably in their forever home.

Clean up / mini restoration of dream kit.

A few weeks back I posted about picking up my dream kit. I've started the deep clean / mini restoration and it is cleaning up beautifully!

Re: Mystery Snares

The wood stained one looks like a tom that was cut down. They're using bass drum claws to clamp down the head and the knob should adjust a felt dampener against the head.

Cleaning Butcher Block Wrap

Doing a deep clean on a Rogers butcher block kit. Is it the same as doing a cleaning on a sparkle wrap? After I clean with Simple Green should I polish with Novus 2?

Re: Picked up my dream drum set today

Dude, it's a players grade kit and I like to mount my one tom on a snare stand. I feel it's gives me more flexibility, especially when playing with larger bass drums, granted that doesn't apply here....

Re: Picked up my dream drum set today

Interesting. What is your opinion on a Swivomatic tom or cymbal stand? I would think that drilling holes in 40+ year old virgin shell is much worse that putting one 13" tom on a snare stand.
To me,...

Re: Picked up my dream drum set today

I actually prefer my rack tom on a snare stand so I'm not that worried about mounting the 13" tom.

Re: Picked up my dream drum set today

Thanks for the info. Being part of a larger kit makes a lot of sense. That could also explain the double 16" floor tom. I would never dream of taking of the stickers. It's part of the story. I'm...

Picked up my dream drum set today

Someone gave my drum teacher an early 70s Rogers butcher block on consignment. He thought it was an old crappy kit and was going to sell it to one of his new students as a beater kit. I scooped it up...
