Re: Repair Project

I agree. $900 is just too much. Spend a few hundred more and get a complete kit.

Re: Slingerland Yellow Jacket question

I've gigged a yellow jacket for 23 yrs before it broke. It took a while for parts but finally got it restored. I also have a DW and Iron Cobra but still love the slingy.

Re: New Tom

Congrats! You were pretty lucky, though as silver spkl. is hard to made when the fade comes into play.

Re: Rogers Red Onyx Drums

That kit was available at the Chicago show perhaps 5-8 yrs ago. It was reasonably priced and I almost bought it but decided I didn't need another kit at that time.

Re: Rogers Question

The bow tie t-rods are a good thing (if original) and points to it being a Cleveland kit. I would say a Cleveland 22 is worth much more than a drum from Fullerton.

Re: Rogers Black Onyx

That is my favorite finish! I have a beautiful 20-12-14ft-16ft with a matching powertone., all Cleveland. I've been meaning to get a glamour shot of these. Perhaps this will light a fire.

Congrats...

Re: Rogers Swivo Cymbal Arm Question

Yes, pic 2 is of the cymbal arm and pic 3 is of a tilter. With an extension arm, the hex rod directly under the cymbal felt (pic 3) can be longer, perhaps up to 6" or so. They came in several...

Re: Rogers Silver Sparkle

The rack tom sure looks like a 13. Compare the toms in the 1st pic. Me? I'd need a 12.

Re: This Person May Not Be a Drummer

I had a photo (can't find it right now) of a snare stand set up exactly like that one. The only difference was he set the snare drum on top of this new set up. It was a beauty.

Re: Nice Ludwig&Ludwig set in WMP

Congrats! you must be excited.

425 miles to pick up then drive home new drums is not as far as driving 425 miles to see grandma.

Re: This is the Display Your Rogers Drums Thread

I did buy the repros and I'm very happy with them. I have a 7 line, 5", and 5 and 6 1/2 five liners. The new drum just sounds the best! Is it the new rail? I dunno.

Re: This is the Display Your Rogers Drums Thread

It didn't have one when I bought it. I bought a "new" frame and wires.

A friend of mine has a pretty big music store, 10 min from my house. I stopped in for a visit and he said he had a question...

Re: Can anyone help identify this drum?

Back in the 20's there were all kinds of shops making instruments. It will be hard to determine the maker.

See if a 14" head fits the bottom of the drum. It may not. There wasn't a real standard...

I started a thread on DFO about the kit. Concerning it's age, Gary N. offered this info,

"The set sports bowtie tension rods on the bass and it is flat gray on all the interiors. I would...

Re: Rogers dynasonic

Yup, that picture is as rec'd. I'm not going to dismantle and clean until I get some new heads which are on order. It's a shame the bridge didn't come with it but I have an extra.....somewhere.
