Re: What would you offer?

I'd study the pictures and make a list of salable stuff. There are a few flat-base Ludwig snare stands, a Slingerland BD pedal, a 70's Premier HH stand and snare stand.A set of rototoms. A lot of luan...

I have a circa. 1977 Imperialstar rering shell in Metallic White. I bought it with a set but will never use it. It has one rim, a bent tom mount receiver and I could include some empty lugs with...

Early Imperialstar lug inserts/ locks

I am in need of at least 3 small-lug inserts and the plastic clips that hold them in for 70's/early 80's Tama imperialstar/Superstar lugs. I have some good lug cases if you want to trade.

Re: Tama Superstar lug help

I am building a seriously abused '77 Imperialstar set right now. One of the BD lugs had broken pegs.A screw won't hold it on now. I went through my junk pile and found a 2000's Rockstar BD lug, and...

Well, here they are. pretty rough. So far both spur mounts have broken screw holes, the tom mount plate is malled up and it smells like cat p1ss. It's coated with scummy filth from 40 some odd years...

I’ve been looking for a set of re-ring Imp’s for about 10 years. These poor fellows were ridden hard and put away wet...pix soon.

Re: Tama serial #s

It is Metallic White. It was a totally random C/L ad that got me these drums. As a matter of fact, the ad read “Random Drums” and included “silver Tama” drums.I expected COW Rockstars or 80’s...

Re: Clear Sound "Made in Japan".

Could that be a Gracy-made set? They used Gretsch pointy lugs.

Re: Slingerland set

Because of the off-center position of the badge I'm thinking the mounted toms are cut-down Magnum/Spirit power toms. Probably Spirit from the tom mounting set-up. The serial number indicates very...

Re: This is the Display Your MIJ Drums Thread

I actually bought that mount except on a rail back around 1972. I was also disappointed mainly because you have no depth adjustment. It is where it is...

Re: Help identify vintage drum without badges

Those could be any of a dozen Chinese import brand names. Six-lug floor tom and bass drum with deep mounted toms and generic "pearl-style"lugs. Nice snare...The set is probably 90's since it has...

That is the earliest iteration of the "Tama"brand. A mixture of the new lugs and Star mounts. There are not many of those drums around. Typically the Star drums that came before had Sonor-style...

Re: Kent american made or MIJ

I have never seen an MIJ Kent with the blue foil badge. It should be 2 ply maple. Luan is vertical grain. Maple is horizontal.

Lessons from my grandfathers friend,an outstanding rudimental drummer, at 8. No drum of any kind, only a breadboard till 12. Kent BDP set with a home made FT. Grandfather and mother were drummers.
