I love the earliest drums to the very present, with that said, look at if you have acces to a 20's or 30's clamp on cymbal arm they had cymbals up to 40+ inches perched on top of them a clamp on to...

I don't see your reasoning, my 24" Black letterd medium 2002 has no problem with it, is there a 26" limit?? note the pic that is a 20" bass drum with a bass drum mounted cymbal arm, with my 24" ride...

You already know it's super rare and valuable the preserial number 602's are my favorites, and I own a pile of them, I hope you play large drums other wise that 26" cymbals gonna look very funny...
