After a minute I got this virus telling me my computer was infetced. It kept popping up and I couldnt close it. Long story short I restarted my computer in safe mode and did a system restore and got rid of it and had to reinstall my microsoft security essentials virus protection. I had no idea where it came from at that time. This morning I continued me research for my drum warp. I went to jammin sams again and the same thing happened. I believe Jammin Sam's website is severly infected with a virus. Its called Smart Fortress 2012. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Found this over the weekend. Just got them home and haven't taken at home pictures yet but here is pictures as found. I don't know what type/style kit this is or what snare would have come with them. I paid for them on the weekend and got them home this evening and I found them in the same City I live in go figure! What confuses me is the bass drum has only four numbers in its serial#s. Here are the #s.Paid $50.00 for them.

Bass #s 5618
Tom 465167
FT 54986

Missing one FT leg -Has a square White Muffle
Missing one muffle inside rack tom
Missing Tom holder on bass drum
Missing Cymbal holder on Bass drum
All drums have WMP( I think) and has inside lapped beginning wrap.

I have been rewrapping Ludwig Downbeat kits in black oyster pearl, adding the correct hardware and selling "Ringo" kits for a few years now. I have seen tribute bass drum shells going out with close to B.O.P. and newer rewrap shells but I haven't seen what I just did. I have several 14x20 black oyster shells that have had a center tom post hole drilled in them. I've plugged that big hole and used original wrap to almost make them "good as new" but I have one that just didn't seem like it wanted to go that route.....
so I cut it in half, or less actually, and made 2 tribute bass drum wall mounts. I make the heads out of the decals you buy on ebay but everything else is vintage, pristine and actual 60's Ludwig gear (except that creeper claw, of course). Oh, and the head. It's a new Remo coated Ambassador. I think it looks better than the plain Ludwig face head. The badge side got the badge and I'm still trying to decide whether to drill out the other end for a badge or leave it alone. I had to plug the rail mount holes but it also looks wonderful. Not done with it just yet and when I am I'll add those pictures. Figure out what the equipment alone costs and you'll understand why I will be asking some good coin for these babies!! Hope you agree, this looks great!! Added the second drum shell. Nice save on a tore up drum. After seeing the picture of the rail hole plugs I took a sharpy and made it look not so bad.

So I was messing about with my tuning tonight, since I moved my drums sound very different and I wanted to tweak a bit from my last tune.

I noticed my 16" Floor tom (69' shell, clear interior, 3ply ringed) is dead in the very center of the head?
Sounds glorious right off center but dead middle...its just blah...

It may just be the new room has WAY better acoustics that I am now noticing it, or maybe its the tune? Could my heads by striking a sympathetic freq. between the two? I tried dropping the bottom head a we more and it was wrong sounding...not complimentary.

Heads are Coated Amby up top and Clear Amby on the bottom, I would not say the drum is choked as it rings out beautifully when struck a wee off center.

Just an odd observation, anyone else deal with this as well?

Oh and a pic of the new drum room in the new house :)
Sold as a 1950's 1121.
I tried to get a good look at all the catalogs so generously posted on this site, but could only find this footboard with the "button" feet.
There was a switch to the rubber tips, as on this one, but the pics showed the Spur Loc.
So... I'm curious. I'm also wondering about the wing screws on the clutch and the upper leg 'clamp.'

Does this add up?

I've got a Slingy natural maple kit and am currently working on putting together a Slingy mahogany kit. Neither kit's got the matching snare.

I picked this kit up on craigslist a couple years ago and have been wondering about the actual production year approximation. I don't know much about Vistalites but I know there are quite a few knowledgeable people on here who do. Also, I've been thinking about possibly repairing and selling off some of the pieces that I don't use but I'm not sure if it would be of more value to sell them together as a package or separately. A few of the drums have matching sequential serial numbers. I apologize in advance for not knowing the exact sizes and I'm currently out of the country so I can't measure them right away. The kick is 26" and the rack toms are 14,15, and two 18's. I posted a picture I have of one of the badges so hopefully that will help, most of the serial numbers are in that general range.

Any ideas as to how much I should ask for the smaller concert toms after I've repaired the cracked ones? Or would it be better to just keep the kit together? I have the lugs/rims for everything and it all seems to be in great condition. I bought the whole kit for a pretty low price so I'm also interested in knowing an approximate value for the whole thing in general too if anyone has a good guess. I really love this kit and plan on holding on to it for a long time but the smaller pieces I don't use just seem to be gathering dust so I was hoping to sell off some of them in order to fund more restoration on the larger pieces. Thanks in advance for your help.
