    Hi OsakaBop, I'm Bruce Cole from Eugene, Oregon U.S.A. I've followed your posts through the years concerning Pearl President drums and I have to say. You and I are in agreement on the topic. I still have my five piece Pearl President kit that I received on Christmas day 1969. Still have the catalog that came with it as well. It is a different catalog than the one listed on Pearls site, but it says "Catalog '69" in the upper right corner. I've been a drum repairman for most of my life and I've never seen a President kit from before 1969. I HAVE seen them with different lugs (not the standard diamond cut lugs that many set have, but a more squarish design). My catalog touts the "Fiberglass President shells with an unconditional five year guarantee". And they're the chocolate brown shells, not the "wood-fiberglass phenolic shells" that were recently touted by a well known Modern Drummer magazine writer as
