Hi All

I recently acquired a Premier snare drum, it's about 14X5" I would say, Steel and has what appears to be the original heads.

The logo is engraved in a kind of script font, along with the words... DELUXE MODEL. According the the link below, it is from 1930!

It is identical to the one on this page (if you scroll down it's the one underneath the "Dominium Super snare drum" where you can see the engraved logo details)...

It's in a bit of a state and could stand to be refurbed. But I'm just wondering if any Premier guru's out there are able to tell anything about this drum?

Thanks for any help...

Hi, I'm on the road right now but from memory, the De Luxe had a range from the late 20s to the mid 30s. They came in a myriad of sizes 14 amd 15 inch and different depths, if I remeber correctly. Also, there were wood versions, as well, 14 and 15 inch and had oval badges. In fact there is one on Ebay UK right now but beware the snare mechanism seems to be missing it's lever

Here is a pic of a 15 wood version with oval badge before restoration

Here is a metal version, also 15, with the original Ivory Paint finish,

and matching bass drum

All three pieces are from the 1930s, I intend to refinish the blue wood De Luxe in it's original finish of Ivory
