Slingerland Artist Custom v. Sonor Force Custom

Quick (and odd) question. I'm almost 100% sure that I heard something back in the day that these drums were dang near the same drum. Just one was packaged as a Slingerland, the other as Sonor. Both come during the time when HSS handled both lines. Anyone know any info about that?

Just realized I got the name of the Slingerland line wrong. It's the Artist Classic, not Custom.

Still, if anyone has the answer...much appreciated. :D
