5 Ply Slingerland

I've been reading some post on this forum about Slingerlands and i've seen 3 ply shells described but not the 5 ply. Does anyone know what the shell composition is and how this would date the drums.

If I'm not mistaken they were maple/poplar/maple/poplar/maple.

The five plies started in the 80's
