Slingerland Snare (Slapshot Strainer) ???

I grabbed this snare for just about $100. I know its gotta be from the 80s. Has what i believe is a slapshot strainer and the black and silver Niles badge.
Does anyone know anymore information concerning what type of shell it may be?? I'm thinking its brass... Quite bright in color.. i couldn't find any copper or bronze drums that looked like this during that time period.
Just lookin for more information.. what would the snare be worth??

I have the same snare, it´s a COB (chrome over brass) Sound King.
The only thing It´s mine has a zoomatic strainer...
