This has been listed as a vintage Hoshino - assume it's the tama hoshino and not the other one, noting the style similarities in the badge. Weirdest thing is the mounting bar style tom mount! I know some seriously vintage kits used to have these, but this is 60's at it's oldest I'd say. Seller says it's 12, 13, 16, 22, white sparkle. Any idea on sound, and what would be a reasonable price?

That rail mount is correct for those drums...

Yeah, didn't think it looked like a modification, just seems an odd hardware choice for a kit of that age. Is it a Tama Hoshino? Looks quite early.
Hello,
Hoshino is NOT Tama and is NOT Star ...
This is an often made error.
Tama's roots are Star, the name of the company behind that was Hoshino Gakki.
Hoshino came from a company called Hoshino Kougyou.
They are definitely not identical - nore from the same production and
always had different lug styles ('Hoshino' looked more in the shape of
Pearl, 'Star' looked more like Rogers/ Slingy's).
Concerning your Hoshino kit: it may sound good, or not. Testing it by yourself
is the better way to find it out.

Cheers for the info. I ended up not bidding on this, and saved my money for the Beverley instead....good to know though!
