Ok, here's a really early sabbath show with Bill Ward kicking the snot out of his slingys!


I really LIKED the early tone he had with the Slingy kit. It was more of a bright Buddy Rich tone than the standard flat SPLAT they ended up using in Metal in later years. The kick was especially MONSTROUS sounding!!

I'm pretty sure he was HEAVILY influenced by Buddy, after all, it is a Buddy Rich Slingerland signature kit he's playing.....gotta love that open sound....

Seriously, I REALLY love it. IMO that was a great sounding era for Slingy's. Someday I wanna get a kit like that, with a 26 in kick.
