What's your thought on something like this?

Should it be played if you're booked at say, Carnegie Hall
or is this quite simply art?

Watching the New Year's Day Barrett / Jackson marathon
( whilst making Christmas '08 past ) it struck me that
most of the beauties on the block were bought in their day
and well, driven.

Finally! A good-looking "new" (?) snare drum! Wow. Everything old is new again! That's really beautiful.

Roscoe, I would say it's 99% art and 1% utilitarian. It could be played, but would God and the angels appear as a result? Would it "blow away" every other snare drum on the planet in terms of sound? Honestly, I would be afraid to play it to find out. What if it just sounded like an average snare drum? God forbid! heh heh But, it's definitely not an average snare drum, that's for sure!

A photograph of a drum like that would do me just as well, since I wouldn't be able to play it, either!:D
