12", 14", rare 12" x 20" bass drum - originally a lacquered kit (clear interiors) someone had stripped and tried to repaint badly - in terrible shape with no (repeat no) lugs. Now re-wrapped in something like Camco's unique 3D-Moire until I get them black lacquered for serious. Paired here with an LA badge COB snare.

Very nice! How's the shallow bass drum sound?

The shallow bass drum is a bit of a surprise. Currently have only a couple of felt strips and it's got plenty of what you want from a bass drum though more hollow than I'm used to (I usually use a miniscule pillow as well).

Once I bung a pillow in I'll be able to say how it compares to what I'm used to (mind you I've been mainly playing an equally old Camco 24" x 18" with 14" and 18" toms so it really is a whole other world).

Small pillow is in the bass drum sounds thuddy and compact - just what I want really.
