I was just looking for a little help in identifying my dad's old snare drum & was curious what kind of value range you all thought I might be looking at. I think he is willing to sell it, but niether one of us know where to begin.

It has a LEEDY & LUGWID badge on the side & it is also stamped into where the strainer is connected. The Finish is an off-white pearl color with a pattern similar to the Marine Pearl Pyralin. Inside, it appears to be painted white. There are 8 lugs & they are not clipped over the rim. The deminsions are 6"(measured head-head) X 14". It seems to be in very good condition. All I see otherwise is a couple of dents to the rim & the discoloring of the chrome.

I know a picture would help...just don't have the ability this moment.

thanks.

Look at some of the Leedy Finishes and Ludwig Finishes here

Leedy (http://www.vintagesnaredrums.com/leedy_finishes.html)

Ludwig (http://www.vintagesnaredrums.com/ludwig_finishes.html)

Then look on this page to see if you see a similar drum or strainer system.

Leedy Drums (http://www.vintagesnaredrums.com/leedy_snare_page.html)

If you can get aus alittle closer with that info then we probably can help without pictures.

Hopefully this will help a bit more. It looks the 1946 white pearl snare on the page you linked me to in every way that I can tell except it has the Leedy & Ludwig badge. This includes the color which didn't seem to match on any of those samples. (The design, like I said before is quite similar to the Marine Pearl Pyralin.
