Came across this Black Marine Pearl kit about 8 years ago. I don't really have the time to play so I'm looking to sell this to someone who can enjoy it much more than I can. I cross referenced the badges with http://www.vintagesnaredrums.com/drcjw/article_2_serial_numbers_page1.html
to make sure of it's production.
http://www.vintagesnaredrums.com/drcjw/article_1_badges.html# Bottom right, one to the left.

On to the good stuff:
The kit is in GREAT condition, virtually no pitting in the chrome on the hardware, no fade in the finish, and NO warping of the shells what so ever.

Cymbals
Hats: 14"
Ride: 22"
Sizzle: 22"
Crash1: 16"
Crash2: 18"
Splash: 10"
All Avedis-Zildjian Cymbals (1960's) EXCEPT for the 16": Pastie Heavy Crash Cymbal (Crash1)

Drums
Snare: Chrome Plated Brass Drum with a Zoomatic Strainer, 14" x 5"
Bass: 20" x 14"
Tom1: 12" x 8"
Tom2: 13" x 8"
Floor: 16" x 15"

You also get:
Soft cases for all drums
Original Slingerland Bassdrum heads
Cymbal Case
All hardware (individual original stands for each cymbal, snare stand, Ludwig Speedking Pedal, Bass and Floor Tom Legs, etc)

Problems:
Hoop on the bass drum has a bit of paint flaking however the Black Marine Pearl Finish on the shell is still in perfect condition.
ONE of the hat's is slightly keyholed (bought it this way, hasn't gotten any worse).

Pictures:
If you need/want specific pictures of anything... feel FREE TO ASK ME. I'll do my best to get them to you as soon as you ask.

Everything is all original hardware and works flawlessly. The kit has been kept indoors always in a temp. controlled environment. Only time anything was ever taken outside was to transport to new living location.
I'm asking $1,200.00 for everything (including stands and all other hardware, cymbal soft case, drum soft cases). If you have a questions feel free to PM me. I'm located in Orlando, Florida to estimate shipping costs. I'll be checking this often... as I would like to get these to someone who can enjoy them instead of having them sit around and collect dust.

If you have any further requests for pictures let me know and I'll be more than happy to send them your way.

Hello everyone, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Everyone who's asked a question, I've replied to.

School kept me so busy this past semester that I completely forgot about my posting here. I've now set this page as my browsers homepage since I really would like to move this kit.

Yes the kit is still available. If you have ANY questions feel FREE to ask me. Thanks.

Really... NO ONE is interested? Common, there has to be someone looking at this kit? What am I missing?

There are a lot of factors at play here.. first and foremost, the economy has many people reluctant to spend money!

Also, the BDP finish is one of the least popular in vintage drums. I say that based on a few factors and there are people that really like it, but on the level of most popluar finishes this is closer to the bottom.

Also, not everyone wants a complete kit with the cymbals.

So in this case, I would probably split the cymbals, hardware, snare and drums if you really need to sell it and make that kind of money.

Otherwise, I would probably just wait and the buyer that has to have it may eventually show up and drop the money..

I agree with Webmaster David...though I would like to have the whole deal, I simply cannot spend $1400 for it.

If you would offer just the drums + original heads, etc. the price may be within range.

I happen to be one of the few who really like BDP a lot...I hadn't even realized I was a minority until now!

Thanks for the response guys! Absolutely everything you guys said makes sense. Except the pearl finish trend, I was also under the (false?) impressison that pearl finishes were more sought after. You learn something new every day.

So, if I may, what are your recommendations on splitting it up? I'll openly admit I havn't researched snare prices nor do I have any real idea what the other 4 pieces would be worth on their own.

I was thinking something like this:

Cymbals: 1,000.00 obo
Snare: 300.00 obo
Drums: 400.00 obo

????

Thanks for all the input again!

Price dropped to $1,200.00 for EVERYTHING!!!

I figure this is a long shot but why not right? I will consider trades for 600cc (or lower) sportbikes.
