I have ran a search here and can?t find any threads on the clamshell strainer missing the arm. There is a nice Slingerland snare drum on eBay right now that has the same problem.
I love these old Slingerland 1 ply maple shells! Like the guitars of the era made in this vicinity of the country, the maple is special in my opinion. I also like the looks of the clamshell strainer! The Slingerland snare drums I have all work. But what I want to ask is what do any of you do about the strainer and especially the handle if anything? Does anyone make after market parts for this Slingerland Clamshell strainer?
Thanks
Dave

Hey, Dave,

You can pick up a replacement handle for the clamshell strainer from Drumatix at a very reasonable price. The original handles were notorioius for breaking off. The handle currently bering offered by Drumatix doesn't have this problem and looks identical to the original ones that came with the vintage Slingerland snares.
