Man, I was real grateful to have been able to bring this one home.
Thinking I really need to get some calfskins on this one...

There is no aspect of that drum that isn't cool. It's, like, cool compounded by more cool.

Yes!

How's she sound? I would think you'd get a lot of crack with it. What's the specs?

Speechless... what a gem too! I'm always blown away when I see something that old, still looking so good. She was well cared for and now that you have her, she will continue to be well cared for.

Great old drum. Enjoy.

I have never before seen one. Nice. Is it an early version of a free floating shell?

Wasn't that drum made for the Century Of Progress Worlds Fair in Chicago? 1939?

T rods on top look to be non original though..........look chrome, rest is nickel.

Is the top hoop original too?

It certainly is a cool, rare snare.

Now,just play it with a Peavey kit,and it will fit right in!

Most of the pics I've seen of these have the clips and single flange arrangement, but some don't. I'd venture they were all clip varieties in the beginning and some got replaced, as this one did. All the ones in old ads have the clip style going on.

The t rods look too new though, from what I can see........look almost Japanese

Kev, the one I played had clip rims and calf heads and gut snare's on it. I can't remember the t rods to long ago!

It's 13 inch heads, the shell is 15 inches in diameter, 8 inches deep.
She's pretty ringy.... a fiberskyn tuned med high tamed her down a bit.

WHY DO PEOPLE TYPE IN ALL CAPS?THEY ALSO SEEM TO BE THE ONES THAT DO NOT BREAK THINGS UP INTO PARAGRAPHS.THEY JUST GO ON AND ON ABOUT THE ITEM,THUS MAKING IT VERY HARD TO READ.I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU,BUT I WILL USUALLY JUST PASS AN AD OVER IF IT IS WRITTEN LIKE THIS.WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON IT?PLEASE REPLY.WOULD BE VERY CURIOUS TO SEE HOW YOU FEEL.MAYBE I AM WRONG,MAYBE IT'S NOT TOO HARD TO READ WHEN WRITTEN LIKE THAT.IS IT?I COULD GO ON AND ON(LIKE THEY DO)ABOUT THEIR PASTE AND ZYDJAN SYBOLS AND PEART FOOT MACHINES,BUT IT IS HARD TO DO THAT.I THINK YOU GET THE POINT,OR,DON'T YOU?I'LL CHECK BACK IN A WHILE,AND SEE HOW YOU FEEL.HAVE A GREAT DAY,AND ROCK ON!guitar2

BlairUnderstood!, just trying to keep This "Very Rare drum" and the thread from losing the intent for which it's intended , the set your referring to is also in that category!
